Vineyard Notes:

The fruit for Cryptology was harvested from our own Hidden Valley Vineyard and the neighboring Dove Pond Vineyard, in the Templeton Gap area of the Paso Robles AVA, The vineyards share the same terroir – calcareous shale and sandstone soils, warm sun and cool nights throughout the long growing season. Rainfall and irrigation are minimal. The resulting yields are low but the fruit flavors are intense.

Winemaker Notes:

While the exact grapes we used in this blend are a closely guarded secret, we can say that the result is a beautifully balanced wine that exhibits characteristics of each varietal that went into the blend. Dark ripe fruit, spice and pepper, and a splash of juicy acidity. This is a complex and multi layered wine that offers great versatility for food pairings but is luscious enough to enjoy on its own.  Drink now or cellar and let the complexity develop further for the next 7 to 10 years.
